The Cabinet approved the regulations concerning the method of financing projects implemented by sector committees for professional formation from the state budget. The duty of these committees is to develop social partnerships to support the technical professional education and continuous formation, IPN reports.
The sector committees are set up voluntarily, at the level of sectors of the economy, by employers and trade unions from the given sector.
Under the strategy for developing the technical vocational education until 2020, sector committees on 12 specialization areas will be created to ensure a platform for communication and cooperation between the social partners and public authorities. These will take part in the working out of policy documents and different professional formation projects and of the National Qualifications Framework. They will also help update the Catalogue of Occupations.
The projects of sector committees that will receive financing from the state budget will be chosen by a commission of experts. After the assessment, the financing will be released based on a contract signed by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection and the beneficiary.
A sum of 1.2 million lei was earmarked in the 2018 state budget for sector committees’ initiatives.
