Executive approves changes to sick leave regulations

The Government endorsed amendments to the regulations concerning the conditions of setting, determining and paying sickness benefit. Under the amendments, the employers will pay sickness benefit for the first five days of the sick leave to employees, Info-Prim Neo reports. The project was drafted by the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family. The sickness benefit from the sixth day of the leave will be paid from the state social insurance budget. The incapacity benefit paid to persons who cannot work because of AIDS, tuberculosis, cancer or risk of miscarriage will be allocated fully from the state social insurance budget, for the entire sick leave period.
