The Government approved Alexandr Esaulenco, the former director of the Security and Intelligence Service (SIS), for the post of Moldova’s ambassador to Azerbaijan, IPN reports.
Alexandr Esaulenco is a bachelor of law. He had worked for over 23 years in the Security and Intelligence Service of the Republic of Moldova as a security officer, division head, deputy director and director of the SIS. Currently, he serves as ambassador with special missions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
Parliament accepted Alexandr Esaulenco’s resignation from the post of SIS director at the beginning of June. He argued he decided to change the job.
In accordance with the law on the diplomatic service, the candidates for the post of ambassador are proposed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration after consulting the commission on foreign policy and European integration, and are accepted by the Government.
