Combatants in the 1992 Transnistrian war created a workgroup which will both supervise and help the investigation concerning the grenade explosion at the window of the flat of the police major, Constantin Domnisor. Domnisor accuses the Minister of Internal Affaires, Gheorghe Papuc of ordering the attempt. The head of the group, Boris Muravschi, ex-general of police, declared on Monday October 16, during a press-conference that the group will help the investigation by accumulating and providing information. Muravschi also declared that the workgroup will act according to the legislation in force. He mentioned, at the same time, that the fact that the crime is not discovered in short time after it was committed, proves either the incompetence of the respective organs, or that this is someone’s intent. The head of the Chisinau municipal organization of the National Union of Veterans of the War for the Independence of the R. of Moldova (UNVRI), Mihai Tomacinschi, declared that the workgroup is composed of 13 persons, former collaborators of police forces, investigation organs, Information and Security Service and General Public Prosecution office. At the same time, the cited source affirmed that UNVRI requests that the Minister Papuc is suspended from office for the period of the investigation. In case the investigation is delayed and the intimidation of Domnisor’s family members is carried on, as well as that of other actual and former collaborators of MIA, the organization reserves itself the right to organize mass protests. Tomacinschi also declared that UNVRI is ready to assure the protection of the members of Domnisor’s family. The head of the Movement of Transnistrian Refugees, Anatol Bazgu, qualified the case “totally out of common”, announcing his organization will support major Domnisor and will appeal to mass actions in case they are needed. Constantin Domnisor announced recently to have discovered that he owns an apartment, he never knew about. Shortly after he insisted to hold possession of the flat, a grenade exploded at its window. Domnisor accuses Gheorghe Papuc of being responsible of this attack, qualified by him as a murder attempt.
