The Producers National Association from Moldova (PNAM), chaired by the former prime-minister Vasile Tarlev, wants to create a data base on Moldovan companies within its program called “Buy Moldovan Products”. The association also wants to contribute to develop new draft laws on protecting the local producers, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The consumers should realize that, when they buy goods from the local producers, they create prerequisites that the output of the Moldovan companies goes up, that new jobs are created and the salaries also go up,” Vasile Tarlev told a news conference on Monday. PNAM is a component part of a program called “Made in Moldova”, which is implemented on PNAM's initiative since 2001, Tarlev said. Speaking about the ways of carrying out the program “Buy Moldovan Products”, the PNAM president has said they will organize presentations of products, opinion surveys, creation contests for students which will write about producers. Enhanced attention will be payed to supporting farmers. They will put up a range of investment projects – from opening grain barns to setting up companies to produce pure natural products. PNAM is identifying potential local and foreign investors to implement those ideas. “It's about locking up the imported products. Our market is free and all the activities we'll organize will match the norms of the World Trade Organization,” the ex-premier underlined. The Program “But Moldovan Products” is said to be a long-term initiative. Its budget is deemed to be some 6 - 7 million lei. The money is to be collected from fees from producing companies, donors and other entities. It's an economic project, not political, the former prime-minister said, adding he expected to be supported by state entities, unions and employers.
