Former Prime Minister Vlad Filat was transferred from Penitentiary No.13 to the remand unit of the National Anticorruption Center.
Press officer of the Prosecutor General’s Office Maria Vieru has told IPN that the accused was transferred in a move to facilitate the questioning because the prosecutors indicted Vlad Filat at the beginning of this week and work on the first case that is to be sent to court.
The ex-Premier was arrested on charges of passive corruption and influence peddling in October. On December 10, the Buiucani Court extended the period of custody for Filat for 30 days. Prosecutor Adriana Betisor, who deals with this case, said a part of the case will be soon remitted to court.
