Former MP Constantin Țuțu surrendered himself to the Moldovan police at the Leușeni-Albița customs post. He is to be taken over by the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, IPN reports, quoting the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Under the ordinances of the Commission for Exceptional Situations, Constantin Țuțu will be placed in quarantine for 14 days.

Press officer of the National Anticorruption Center (NAC) Angela Starinski, in a comment for the press, said the Border Police informed them that a wanted person whose case is managed by the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office entered Moldova. An intervention group of the NAC travelled to the Leușeni-Albița customs post to take over this person.

A warrant for the arrest of the ex-MP was issued at the request of prosecutors last September. Constantin Țuțu is investigated for influence peddling and unjust enrichment.
