The former minister of economy and infrastructure Anatol Usatyi wants to become mayor of the municipality of Chisinau. The Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova (PDCM) presented Anatol Usatyi as its candidate for the November 5 local mayoral elections, IPN reports.

“I believe I am the most suitable potential candidate for such a capital city as Chisinau. Trust practitioners, dear residents of Chisinau. I have a clear view for the municipality of Chisinau so as to ensure its massive, structured and immediate development. The initiatives we will implement are designed to make the city and its suburban settlements more prosperous, safer and accessible,” the party’s deputy chairman Anatol Usatyi told a news conference.

The leader of the PDCM Ion Chicu, ex-Prime Minister, noted that today Chisinau faces serious problems. The municipality is suffocated by traffic jams, while the economy lies in ruins. Such a situation should be changed. “On November 5, we can change this state of affairs. Out of respect for the country’s citizens, we will come before you with worthy, professional candidates devoted to the localities in which they live,” stated Ion Chicu.

Anatol Usatyi served as minister and secretary of state at the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure.
