The criminal case against a judge from Glodeni who is accused of consciously passing an illegal judgment was sent to court. The former judge faces up to five years in jail, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, in August 2014, when trying a person who committed an act of corruption, the judge pronounced an acquittal sentence, arguing the elements of an offense were absent. The prosecution challenged the sentence in the Balti Appeals Court, which gave a suspended sentence to the culprit. Simultaneously, the Court pointed to a series of deficiencies in the examination of the case by the ordinary court of law.
If he is found guilty, the ex-judge will be jailed for up to five years or will be fined up to 57,500 lei.
