Former minister of health Andrei Usatyi was transferred under house arrest from the remand center. He will stay under house arrest for a period of 30 days initially. Such a decision was passed by the Buiucani District Court on May 25, IPN reports.
After the hearing, prosecutor Dorin Compan said that they will most probably challenge this decision. Businessman Tudor Tchaikovsky will remain under arrest until the start of June. The other 15 suspects investigated for arranging tender contests in the health system are under house arrest.
At end-April, the court decided to extend the arrest warrant against ex-minister Andrei Usatyi for 25 days. Usatyi remained in the hospital of the Pruncul Penitentiary, where he was transferred several days after being operated at the Cardiology Institute.
