The former director of the Center for Children and Youth “Artico” Aurelia Hincu said she was fired because somebody wants to appropriate the valuable territories of the Center. In a news conference on Friday, she said that in 2008 “Artico” won rights over a plot of 4.8 hectares and considerable pressure was exerted on her over the next three years, Info-Prim Neo reports. “This title authenticating the right of ownership for the land hindered the farther use of this plot for personal purposes and making profit or building something in the center of the city,” said Aurelia Hincu. According to her, attempts were made to transfer this plot back to the City Hall so that it could be sold. The former director stated that numerous inspections were carried out by the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Audit Office, the Revision and Control Service, the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime, and the Ministry of Education. “During three years they had looked for something, but could not find and started to pressurize me,” said Aurelia Hincu. She also said that her phone conversation with a teacher was tapped and the recording was modified so that it resulted that the Center “Artico” illegally collects money from children. Aurelia Hincu said she knows who wants to appropriate the land, but it is the law enforcement bodies that should get at the truth. Aurelia Hincu was discharged by an order of the Ministry of Education sighed by Mihail Shleahtitski on January 31. The ex-director considers the order is illegal and appealed it to court.
