Irina Gutnic, former deputy director general of the National Dispute Resolution Agency, said her dismissal is illegal and she will challenge the decision in court. According to her, she was discharged earlier in the absence of a document ascertaining the alleged irregularities she committed and her right to defense wasn’t ensured.

In a news conference at IPN, Irina Gutnic said she opposes the actions of a group of MPs who concentrated their efforts on her denigration. This group of MPs misled the parliamentary majority so as to gather sufficient votes for dismissing her. “Yesterday, by the votes of the parliamentary majority, I was dismissed before time from the post of deputy director general of the National Dispute Resolution Agency, with the speed of sound, without being questioned, without being given the right of reply, without being familiarized with the reasons for being able to defend myself, in the absence of a document ascertaining the so-called violations of which I was accused,” noted Irina Gutnic.

She also said that the MPs hadn’t yet voted on the issue, but the dismissal decision was already announced through social media.

According to Irina Gutnic, the ruling party in its electoral program said the rule of law would be ensured. In reality, the functionaries we are not members of the team of the Party of Action and Solidarity, regardless of their professional capacities, are dismissed more intense than under Vlad Plahotniuc.

Irina Gutnic noted that in October 2021, she applied for the post of direct general of the Agency and had the current director as her opponent. The contest was mimicked. Since her opponent took up his duties, he committed multiple violations. An approach was made to Parliament. “The commission on economy, budget and finance, instead of dismissing the director general for the committed illegalities, invented a kind of report on my assessment. They dismissed me, invoking some aberrant reasons,” said Irina Gutnic.

“Evidently, I will challenge this cheap show. Moreover, I will inform the Delegation of the European Union about the abuses you committed when you dismissed me without a legal reason at a time when you ignore the real violations of the legislation.”

Irina Gutnic announced she will launch a platform that will focus on the delivery of expertise by a group of experts in different fields, who will monitor the areas of increased interest for society and the work done by the National Dispute Resolution Agency and other public institutions. Society will be periodically presented reports.
