Ex-Chisinau mayor sues City Council over apartment

Veaceslav Iordan, the former ad-interim mayor of Chisinau, has sued the City Council claiming a three-roomed apartment from the municipal authorities, Info-Prim Neo reports. The trial, due to start today at the Chisinau Court of Appeals, was postponed until 26 because the plaintiff failed to appear before the court, while the judge hearing the case hadn't been informed of the reasons of the absence. Elena Lisnic, the representative for the City Council, was not able to offer details on the case, saying she didn't even know the reason why Iordan sued the Council, nor has she received the summons. Veaceslav Iordan eventually appeared in the courtroom, but was half an hour late. Traditionally, he declined to speak to reporters. Iordan now serves as director of the Water Agency “Apele Moldovei”.
