The only Romanian educational institution in Râbnița and one of the eight on the left bank of the Dniester, the Theoretical High School "Evrika", is celebrating its 30th anniversary. The High School employs 30 teachers, while 200 students attend its classes. The biggest and most lasting problem of the institution is the lack of headquarters. The educational process takes place in the building of a former kindergarten. The building does not belong to the High School, Elita TV reports.

According to the source, "while at the beginning the pressure and fear reduced the number of students, currently, over the years, the High School has become a school for students from both banks of the Dniester. Students come here from other schools from the Râbnița district and even from the neighboring district, beyond the Dniester, from Rezina. Over 1600 girls and boys have graduated from this educational institution. Dozens of graduates are the High School's business card in fields such as economics, law, showbiz medicine and other fields, whether inside the country or abroad and even in the European Parliament".

The High School's anniversary celebration took place in the Culture Palace in the city of Râbnița. At the event, the parents of the first generations of graduates remembered how they knocked on the doors of embassies, while sometimes being unwanted guests there, in order to get support and defend their children's school. According to the parents, the pedagogical groups from the educational institutions in the eastern districts have contributed very much for the cause, more than some governments have done so far.

Ion Iovcev, the director of the"Lucian Blaga" Theoretical High School in Tiraspol, speaking on the subject of the eight Romanian schools on the left bank of the Dniester, said that this chain made of eight links has now become very powerful. "You don't learn history, you make history", said Ion Iovcev.

Heads of institutions from both banks of the Dniester, representatives of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, the Bureau for Reintegration, other public authorities from Chișinău and guests from Romania have participated at the event.
