The National Agency for Regulations of Electronic Communications and Informational Technology suspended GSM mobile telephony operator Eventis Mobile’s license for 2 more months. Info-Prim Neo reports the decision was taken as requested by the administrator of company’s insolvency. The administrator explained his request through the insurance measures applied by the Economic Court of Appeal, after Eventis Mobile insolvency process was initiated. These measures stipulate that all of company’s assets, including the license, will be sold to cover creditors’ claims. Initially, the license was suspended on February 13, as requested by the company’s board. Meanwhile, Economic Court of Appeal’s ruling came into effect on April 7 regarding the initiation of the insolvency process against Eventis Mobile. The Court also appointed the insolvency administrator. It is after his request that the Agency board decided to temporarily suspend company’s license for the second time. Previously, the Agency effected an examination within the company in order to check whether it met license requirements. It was established that Eventis Mobile didn’t respect its obligation to provide with radio signal at least 60% of population by the end of 2009 and to operate with no less than 340 stations. Eventis Mobile obtained its GSM operator license for 8 million $, in 2006, and launched commercially in December 2007. Thus it became the fourth mobile telephony company in Moldova, after Orange Moldova, Moldcell and Moldtelecom. According to the statistics, Eventis registered sales of 7.5 million lei and had about 11,800 clients in 2009.
