Evangelists urge believers to go to vote on April 5, and the political parties to behave Christian-like in the electoral race. The call was made on Monday at a news conference by a group of pastors from a series of evangelical churches, Info-Prim Neo reports. Alexandru Malancea, a pastor of Holy Trinity Church from Botanica sector of Chisinau, has said the Evangelical Church calls on all the Christians “to go to vote in freedom of conscience.” The pastors say the have decided to make the gesture since not all the Moldovans are aware of the biblical position concerning their civic duties. According to the priests, the Bible shows that man is free to elect the rule on Earth, and God is to decide on the ruler. The pastors say they do not stand for some concrete party and pray for all of them both ruling and in opposition. They also call on electoral competitors to adopt a 'Christian behavior', not to denigrate one another, not to quarrel. “The parties should present their good programs, not blaming one another. We need no lies and slander, we want to know the position of each party,” said pastor Evghenii Gulcenco from a church in Rascani district in Chisinau. The Evangelists represent some 2% of the Moldovan population.
