The European Union provides almost €2 million for creating a data exchange platform for ensuring the intellectual property rights. The creation of the software will enable to improve cooperation between public institutions that work in the field, said the authors quoted by IPN.

Octavian Apostol, director of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), in an event held to launch the project “Support for ensuring the respect for intellectual property rights” on March 22, said investments will be made in last-generation technology. The goal is to improve the legal framework and to strengthen communication between institutions responsible for intellectual property protection.

“The general objective of the project is to improve the implementation of the law and regulations concerning intellectual property rights in the Republic of Moldova, the management and swift exchange of information concerning aspects of intellectual property rights,” said the AGEPI director.

Attending the event, Mindaugas Kacerauskis, Charge D’affaires of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, said the project aims to create a favorable environment for ensuring the respect for intellectual property rights and to improve the data protection system.

The project will be completed in November 2018.
