The European Parliament approved the allocation of a grant of €90 million to Moldova. According to the Government’s press service, the financial assistance will be used to handle the financial crisis and cover the balance of payments deficit and budget needs, Info-Prim Neo reports. The money will be disbursed in three or four tranches. The first two will be available by the end of this year. The European Parliament’s decision comes to honor the pledges made at the donors’ meeting held in Brussels on March 24. Then, the development partners decided to provide US$2.6 billion in loans and grants to help implement the development program for 2010-2012 “Rethink Moldova”.
