European Parliament President to visit Chisinau

The President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz will pay a working visit to Chisinau. The announcement was made in a news conference held jointly in Brussels by Prime Minister Vlad Filat and Martin Schulz, Info-Prim Neo reports. Vlad Filat and Martin Schulz discussed the developments in Moldova and the EU-Moldova relations. “We reached the conclusion that these relations are positive and dynamic. I thanked the European Parliament for the support provided to Moldova until now,” he stated. He also spoke about the steps taken by Moldova in the negotiations on the Moldova-EU Association Agreement, the liberalization of the visa regime, the creation of a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area and the signing of the Agreement on the Common Aviation Area between Moldova and the European Union. The two officials also conferred on the Transnistrian dispute. Martin Schulz stressed that the European Parliament is ready to support the Moldovan authorities in promoting the reform agenda.
