European Parliament delegation to come to Chisinau

The European Parliament on June 24 sends a delegation of MEPs to Chisinau to assess the political situation in Moldova and exchange opinions with the new government of the country. The delegation consists of four MEPs, IPN reports, quoting a press release.

The delegation will be led by the Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee David McAllister and on June 24 will meet with the new political administration of Moldova. Meetings were panned with Prime Minister Maia Sandu, President Igor Dodon, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nicolae Popescu, Minister of the Interior Andrei Năstase and Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grechanyi. The delegation will also met with the head of the Democratic parliamentary group Pavel Filip.

“The goal of the visit is to assess the political situation on the spot following the recent political crisis and to take stock of the current relations between the Republic of Moldova and the EU,” runs the press release.

Alongside David McAllister, the European Parliament delegation includes MEPs Siegfried Mureșan, Claire Moody and Heidi Hautala.
