European officials welcome the solving of the political crisis in Moldova and encourage the authorities to continue the reform agenda. Related statements were made in the separate meetings held by Head of Parliament Igor Corman, who is in Brussels on his first working visit as Speaker, IPN has learned from the Parliament’s press service.

The President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz said the European Parliament supports Moldova’s European agenda, including the development of the interparliamentary relations and the transfer of experience in the process of adjusting the national legislation to the European norms and standards.

The European Parliament’s rapporteur for Moldova Graham Watson, who is a member of the Group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, said he trusts the new coalition’s government priorities. He encouraged the continuation of the European reform agenda, underlining the importance of ensuring transparency and involving civil society and the people in decision making.

The President of the Socialists and Democrats Group in the European Parliament Hannes Swoboda said that Moldova will continue to benefit from the Group’s open support in coming closer to the EU values and standards.
