Marian Pocaznoi, the head of the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC), says that European officials changed their opinion about the revocation of NIT television’s broadcasting license, Info-Prim Neo reports. Marian Pocaznoi told a Saturday program on Radio National that the BCC's decision was erroneously presented to European officials, which is why they initially reacted with concern. “The international organizations admitted they had been wrongly informed about the NIT case. I met with European partners and experts and I showed them all the evidence, so they agreed with our decision and only requested that we treat all broadcasters equally”, he said. Besides NIT, all channels with national coverage were monitored. “In my opinion, the management of this channel led to its closing. I honestly tell you the BCC decision wasn’t spontaneous, but an argued one”, he added. According to the BCC chairman, the Court of Appeal rejected NIT’s request to annul the Council decision. NIT’s license was revoked on April 5.
