“We overcame the political crisis and now focus on the political priorities of Moldova, while the European integration is our common goal,” First Deputy Speaker Vlad Plahotniuc said in a meeting with Romanian representatives of the common commission on European integration that was created by the Moldovan and Romanian legislative bodies, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the Parliament’s press service. Vlad Plahotniuc called on the participants in the first meeting of the joint commission to formulate definite objectives for the future activities. Drawing a parallel with the group “Moldova’s Friends”, he suggested such a goal as the organization of a meeting of the Heads of Parliament of the EU member states in Chisinau. For his part, the head of the Romanian Senate’s foreign policy commission Titus Corlatean welcomed the election of the President of Moldova by Parliament. He said that supporting Moldova’s European integration is a permanent objective of the Romanian authorities, adding that Bucharest has the necessary experience and can help avoid certain mistakes. The senator encouraged Moldova to make progress and to insist on the more for more principle in the relations with the EU. The interlocutors also discussed the technical organization of the cooperation and agreed to identify the priorities in the examination of the Moldovan legal acts that are to be adjusted or adopted in the process of European integration.
