The chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) Vlad Filat is paying a visit to Poland, at the invitation of Polish Premier Donald Tusk, the President-elect of the European Council, the party says in a communiqué. In a meeting with Vlad Filat, Donald Tusk said that one of the first visits that he will make as President of the European Council will be to Moldova. Tusk also assured that Moldova will continue to enjoy the development partners’ assistance in achieving its European integration objective, IPN reports.
According to Donald Tusk, Moldova achieved the greatest results within the Eastern Partnership. The official approved of the courage by which the PLDM, as a ruling party, promoted important and necessary reforms. Tusk said the European partners, including Poland, will be near Moldova and reiterated the necessity of intensifying the pro-European reforms and implementing the provisions of the Association Agreement with the EU after the legislative elections.
Vlad Filat thanked the Polish Premier for the constant support provided to Moldova by development projects and by projects to create workplaces and for the loan of €100 million offered for modernizing agriculture.
