Europe Day in Comrat

On Europe Day that is celebrated in Moldova for the seventh consecutive year, the Delegation of the European Union in Chisinau aims to reach the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia. On May 19, the celebrations will be staged in the central square of the city in cooperation with the Comrat City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the organizers, the “European Village” will be the centre of Europe Days celebrations, where the embassies of the EU Member States will present their culture, European cuisines and national identity in food tents. The activities will start at 2pm. They will include a public debate in a question-answer format on general issues concerning the cooperation between the EU and Moldova. Moldovans will be able to ask questions and speak face to face with EU ambassadors, high-ranking Moldovan officials and representatives of the local authorities. The visitors will also be able to learn key expressions in different languages of the EU at the ‘Linguistic corners’ that will be set up within the “European Village”. The children will draw on asphalt with colored chalk. The most active ones will receive presents from the EU Delegation to Moldova. The activities in Comrat will end with a concert involving singers from Moldova and abroad. The concert starts at 7pm. Europe Day is organized by the EU Delegation to Moldova. The activities will be sponsored by Sudzucker, Orange, Agroindbank Moldova and Flor Art.
