The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) is not satisfied with the result of the negotiations on the distribution of posts in the recently formed government coalition held with the Party of Socialists (PSRM), but no politician will be actually satisfied as a result of such exercises, IPN quoted Democratic MP Eugeniu Nikhiforchuk as saying in the talk show “Fourth Power” on N4 channel.

“Personally, I don’t think that you will be able to find a politician who would be satisfied with particular post distributions as a result of negotiations. Any negotiations involve concessions, compromises and the electoral program you planned to implement has to be modified. If you meet politicians who say that they remained satisfied, don’t believe them,” he stated.

The Democratic MP confirmed the reports that the PDM is to hold the post of Parliament Speaker or of Prime Minister.

“We negotiated one of these two posts and we choose the post of Prime Minister as there are many tangencies and things that we could easier implement if we hold this position. Responsibility should be also borne, but when the PDM was in power we weren’t afraid to hold important posts,” said Eugeniu Nikhiforchuk.

However, as they say, one of the two posts will be given to the PDM only after the presidential elections.

“We don’t think this is opportune in the situation in which we are now. We should not forget where we set off from and where we arrived. We should also understand the critical situation in which the Republic of Moldova is now. The situation is difficult in the region and all over the world. We want the Government to enjoy healthy, broad support.”

As to the presidential elections, the MP said the PDM wants to have a candidate in this autumn’s campaign, but a decision will be taken later. The PDM could support the PSRM’s candidate, if necessary.
