“Eugene Ionesco” Theatre (TEI) prepared for the public from Chisinau a “retro” theatrical session, which will start on October 26 with “The Government Inspector” play staged by Petru Vutcarau. This is the second “first” appearance of the well-known play, after the first one was presented in May 25, 1997. In the new version, together with the young actors of the theatre the cast of 1997 will perform: Ala Mensicova, Andrei Sochirca, Petru Oistric, Vitalie Drucec and Angela Sochirca. The session will include also other successful plays of the theatre, such as “Waiting for Godot” and “The bold singer”. The spectators will have the possibility to sea once more “The Lesson” by Eugene Ionesco, “No one’s peoples” by Dumitru Crudu”, “Women of Picasso. Jaqueline” and “Women of Picasso. Olga”. Besides the retro session, the first appearance of “The Cherry Orchard” by Chekhov and “The Dragon” by Schwarz will take place. The artistic director of the theatre, Petru Vutcarau declared on Wednesday, October 11, at a press conference, that the 16th theatricall session of “Eugene Ionesco” startes as usual with the participation at two international theatre festivals „Чаепитие в Мытищах» from Russia and „Theatropolis” International Theatre Festival, within the frameworks of which the plays “Women of Picasso. Jaqueline” and “Women of Picasso. Olga” were presented. They plays had a great success. Referring to the problems the theatre „Eugene Ionesco” confronts with, the lack of own headquarters, Petru Vutcarau mentioned that he maintains his optimism regarding the fact that this problem will be soon solved, because the Ministry of Culture and Toursim, as well as the City Hall of the municipality of Chisinau promised to the leadership of the theatre that it „works” in this respect. Vutcarau mentioned that the financial resources for the well-functioning of the theatre, which is a state one and is financed from the budget, cover only 60% of all necessities. At the same time, he said that some actors can refuse to appear on the stage because of the horrible conditions from the Center of Culture and Art “Ginta Latina”, which accommodates the theatrical team. The director of TEI claimed especially the lack of heating during winter, fact which endangers the health of the actors. All these problems lead to the situation, when despite the fact it has a remarkable artistic potential, can not offer to the public the best it has, Vutcarau declared, cited by Info-Prim Neo.
