“Eugen Ionesco” Biennial Exhibition held in Chisinau

Starting with May 16 to 28 the seventh edition of the International Theatre Festival “Eugen Ionesco” BITEI 2006 will take place in Chisinau, with the title “Between Orient and Occident”. The event is organized by the “Eugen Ionesco” theatre, Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Moldova and the Mayoralty of Chisinau. According to the organizers of BITEI 2006, during the festival 36 performances will be presented from 15 countries, including Japan, Romania, South Korea, France, Russia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Poland, Georgia, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and the Republic of Moldova. On May 10 2006, at the National Theatre “Mihai Eminescu” will take place a press conference dedicated to the opening of the festival. The BITEI festival is the country’s only international theatre festival.
