Eugen Doga will render Homage to Eminescu

Composer Eugen Doga will give a performance dedicated to poet Mihai Eminescu. The concert titled Homage to Eminescu will be held in the Organ Hall on January 14, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Public Relations Division of the Chisinau City Hall. Lyrical songs under the poems of the great bard, sonnets and compositions inspired from Mihai Eminescu’s works will be sang on his birthday. The concert will be held by the National Chamber Orchestra conducted by Oleg Palymski and the Chamber Choir conducted by Ilona Stepan. Among the special invitees are tenor Mihai Munteanu, organ player Ana Strezeva, sopranos Tatiana Costiuc and Ana Dimitriu, and violin player Ionel Manciu. Emeritus artist Vitalie Rusu will act as a compère, the Public Relations Division says in a communiqué. An exhibition of works by Painter Valentina Brancoveanu dedicated to Mihai Eminescu will be set up in the lobby of the Organ Hall, the communiqué says. On January 15, when it will be 159 years of the birth of the poet, flowers will be laid to the monument to Mihai Eminescu located in the Square of M. Eminescu National Theater and to the bust of the poet situated on the Alley of Classical Writers.
