A book of arias and romances entitled “Dialogues of Love”, first volume, which includes music composed by Eugen Doga inspired by the romantic relationship between Mihai Eminescu and Veronica Micle, will be launched at the National Philharmonic “Sergey Lunkevich” in Chisinau on April 19, at 6pm, IPN reports.
According to the Chisinau City Hall, Mihai Eminescu’s poems and the tumultuous love between the great bard and Veronica Micle marked the whole work of composer Eugen Doga. The master produced music out of poetry. The first volume of “Dialogues of Love” contains 25 songs and romances written by Eugen Doga based on poems composed by Veronica Micle and Mihai Eminescu.
The performance will feature soprano Mariana Bulicanu, who is a soloist of the National Opera House “Maria Biesu”, Cristina Pintilie, soprano Ana Chernikova, Marcel Rosca, students of the Lyceum “Ciprian Porumbescu” and the Symphonic Orchestra conducted by Dumitru Carciumaru. The spectators will enjoy an evening with dedications, autographs and surprises.
“I think these two personalities in the history of Romanian culture were made for one another. I think many poems wouldn’t have appeared if the two hadn’t known each other. Veronica was a genial poet... Her poems were so extraordinary and show so much love, warmth, hatred, devotion, passion. There is so much space in these feelings,” master Eugen Doga said in an interview.
Eugen Doga’s works include songs, lyrical songs, ballet music, music for theater plays and for 200 films, while his waltzes “My sweet and tender beast” and “Gramophone” are among the most beautiful pieces of music of all times.
