An autobiographical volume of master Eugen Doga entitled “My Life as It Was Meant to Be” was launched in Chisinau. The publication appeared with financial support from the Chisinau City Hall in connection with the 85th birthday of the composer. The launch involved personalities from the field of culture, while the Chamber Orchestra “Camerata Chișinău” led by conductor Mihai Amihalachioaie gave a concert of classical music, IPN reports.

Attending the event, deputy mayor of Chisinau Angela Cutasevici said that a number of projects will be implemented this year, which was declared the Year of Eugen Doga. The book “My Life as It Was Meant to Be” is a special accomplishment that will be definitely followed by other volumes. The current book tells about the secrets of the composer’s childhood and the children will be able to find out how a person can become a genius.

Poet and writer Ion Hadârcă said that this book includes everything – history, emotional turmoil, searches, interpretations of the purpose of life on earth. “Master Eugen Doga forms part of the category of those who are hard as a nutshell and who almost cannot be ‘deciphered’. He sets a high standard and one should deserve to reach it,” said the writer, noting this book will remain a personal growth model in the national heritage.

According to writer Vladimir Beșleagă, the book is a divine work that is the product or even the testament left by the artist to the generations to come.

Director of the National Museum of Arts of Moldova Tudor Zbârnea said that this book is written in a poetic language, as one should actually write about nature. “I was deeply touched by the tender way in which the author tells about his mother. I was also very close to my mother, but you describe this connection in a special way. This book makes us think about our childhood and about our experiences,” stated Tudor Zbârnea.

“It is a valuable work in which we all find ourselves. It is a complex book where the Citizen of Honor of the municipality of Chisinau Eugen Doga skillfully displayed the letters, as he does with musical notes on the stave. Here we can find recollections from childhood, history notes, the poet’s emotional turmoil, his experiences and searches. Definitely, Eugen Doga’s autobiographical volume “My Life as It Was Meant to Be” will remain part of the national heritage,” mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban said in a message transmitted on the occasion of the launch.
