The necessity of creating a working subgroup that would deal with cases of human rights violations was discussed by Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Eugen Carpov in a meeting with Tiraspol’s chief negotiator Nina Shtanski on October 12, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Reintegration Office, the Deputy Prime Minister reiterated the necessity of observing the basic rights of the student of the Tiraspol-based Theoretical High School “Lucian Blaga” Alexandru Bejan (who is accused of deceitfully reporting acts of terrorism). He asked stopping the unfounded prosecution of the student. Another subject discussed in the meeting was the situation of the schools teaching in Latin script in the Transnistrian region. The interlocutors stressed the necessity of continuing the concerted efforts to solve the problems faced by these institutions, provide them with appropriate offices and create suitable conditions for the education process. They agreed that experts in education from both banks of the Nistru will continue to cooperate so as to finish working out the mechanism for making the Transnistrian diplomas have the same value as the Moldovan ones. The same day, experts in economy and banking from both banks of the Nistru had a meeting at the head office of the OSCE Mission in Chisinau. They discussed the interaction in the banking sphere and the foreign commercial activity of the Transnistrian economic entities.
