The first deputy head of the European People’s Party of Moldova (PPEM) Eugen Carpov, who heads the European People’s Parliamentary Group, was elected co-chairman of the Moldova-EU Parliamentary Association Committee by a majority of votes, IPN reports, with reference to a press release of the PPEM.

Eugen Carpov will chair the Committee’s meetings alongside the representative of the European Parliament, MEP Andi Cristea. “I’m convinced that the new composition of the Delegation will represent with dedication the interests of the Moldovan citizens and will bring value added to the relations with the European institutions,” stated Eugen Carpov.

The Moldova-EU Parliamentary Association Committee exercises parliamentary control over the implementation of the Association Agreement and is a forum of debates and exchanges of opinions with European partners on issues related to a wide range of areas, such as good governance, justice, protection of human rights, economic cooperation and commercial integration, freedom of expression and others.
