The European Union will provide all the necessary support to the new Cabinet, Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Pirkka Tapiola said in a meeting with Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet in the Government Building on July 31, IPN reports.
Pirkka Tapiola underlined the importance of this event for ensuring stability and continuity of reforms in Moldova. He confirmed the EU’s readiness to cooperate and to support the process of implementing reforms and the county’s modernization.
For his part, the Premier expressed readiness to have an efficient dialogue with the European partners. “It is normal to have this first official meeting as Prime Minister with you, the representative of the European Union in Chisinau. We have an ambitious agenda and are firmly convinced that we will manage to implement it successfully, together with our partners,” stated Valeriu Strelet.
In the meeting, the officials discussed aspects of the bilateral cooperation, the implementation of the Association Agreement between the EU and Moldova and the priorities for the immediate period. A separate subject for discussion was the carrying out of the conditions for creating the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, including in Moldova’s Transnistrian region.
