EU to approve new strategy on relations with Eastern neighbors, including Moldova

The European Union has framed a strategy regarding the relations with the eastern neighbors, including Moldova. The document will be publicized next week. The new strategy proposes a supplementary aid and commercial preferences to the countries which will hasten democratic reforms.
On November 29, The European Commission will officially present a new program on allotting about EUR 300 mln to the countries which will show a higher level of democracy. Also, the EU will offer them the possibility to engross more actively in commercial and economic policies of the Union.
“We must offer our Eastern neighbors the same preferences we are offering the Southern ones, namely the Mediterranean countries”, a European diplomat declared, cited by foreign news agencies.
Countries considered EU neighbors are the following: Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
