The European Union invites to four concerts under a unique concept to celebrate unity through art as an answer to the war in Ukraine along with young talented people and authentic music. Over 110 musicians from seven countries, Moldovan National Youth Orchestra, conductors, soloists and special guests will offer exceptional performances within the European Year of Youth communication campaign, IPN reports, quoting the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova.
The first performance called Stradivarius Evening will take place at the Organ Hall on July 22, at 7:30pm. The spectators will enjoy a spectacular concert by Brahms performed on the Stradivarius violin dated from 1716, an instrument from the collection of the National Bank of Switzerland. It will be followed by incomparable No. 9 Symphony by Antonin Dvořák.
The second concert is the Classical Music Evening at Butuceni. It will be given on July 23, at 7:00pm. Seventy young talents from the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Ukraine and Europe will perform in the classical music concert conducted by Cristian Spataru. Spectators are expected to take part in a manifesto for the cultivation and preservation of cultural values as the answer to the war in Ukraine and its consequences on the cultural heritage of this country.
As many as 110 talented young people from Europe, Republic of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine will offer a spectacular concert for all lovers of classical music at Digital Park, Chisinau, on July 27, at 7:30pm. Spectators will listen to “Ode to Joy”, Ludwig van Beethoven’s most famous composition, – known also as the Ninth Symphony. The special guest of the evening is Gabriel Bebeselea, main conductor of the Cluj and Bucharest Philharmonic, co-founder of the Moldovan Youth Orchestra. The evening will be full of surprises.
On July 30, at 7:30, at Tighina Fortress, the public is invited to discover cinematography through music at Oscar Movies. Young musicians from Europe, Republic of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine will offer a unique interpretation of film soundtracks by the most famous music film composers. The musicians’ artistry will teleport spectators to the Oscar films atmosphere.
The concerts are organized with the financial support of the European Union, in collaboration with Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Education and Research, UNDP Moldova, East European Foundation, Sweden, Embassy of Netherlands, Romanian Cultural Institute “Mihai Eminescu”.
