The European Union provided €2 million to Moldova for fighting corruption, money laundering and economic crime and €0.5 million for ensuring media freedom and pluralism.
The Cabinet on May 21 approved annex No.1 to the financing agreement between the Government of Moldova and the European Union, for the framework program in support of the current and new agreements between the two sides, and submitted it to Parliament for ratification, IPN reports.
The document will take effect when the European Commission receives the notification concerning the fulfillment of the internal procedures from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, but not later than December 31, 2014.
