The European Union Delegation to Moldova launches a call for applications for Civil Society Organizations to participate in the first edition of the Moldovan Civil Society Forum (under the Eastern Partnership). The first edition of the Moldovan Civil Society Forum will take place in Vadul lui Voda on September 20 and 21, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a press release from the EU Delegation to Moldova.
The aim of Civil Society Forum in Moldova is to collaborate and maintain communication with the Eastern Partnership Forum, by promoting exchange of local experiences and best practices (for more information: http://www.eap-csf.eu).
Participation to the EaP Civil Society Forum of Moldova is open to a wide range of civil society organisations, i.e. grass roots organisations, trade unions, employers' organisations, professional associations, NGOs, think tanks, non-profit foundations, national and international CSOs/networks and other relevant Civil Society actors based in Moldova.
The CSF of the Republic of Moldova participants should come from the CSOs registered in the Republic of Moldova. However other participants could also come from EU MS and international organisations/networks active in the Republic of Moldova. Civil society and non-governmental organizations should be active actors in promoting democratic and market-oriented reforms based on respect for democracy and human rights, the rule of law, good governance, principles of market economy and sustainable development.
The selection of the EaP CSF Moldova will be made by an independent Committee in consultation with the EU Delegation to Moldova.
As a result of establishing the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (EaP CSF) in November 2009 in Brussels, the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova decided to create a related sub-structure at the country level - Civil Society Forum of the Republic of Moldova (CSF Moldova). In the future the CSOs themselves should share the responsibility for the work of the CSF of Moldova and the EU Delegation will support the EaP Civil Society Forum of Moldova to become a self-organized structure.
