The European Union will offer another 28 million euros to further support confidence building and conflict resolution measures between Moldova and the Transnistrian region, as the Moldovan Government on Wednesday approved the financing agreement to this effect, IPN reports.

Deputy Prime Minister Eugen Carpov said emphasis within the confidence building program will be placed on social projects aimed at supporting all the settlements located in the Security Zone. Additionally, the program will support development projects proposed by nongovernmental organizations and enterprises based in the Transnistrian region. Part of the money will be allocated for regional development projects proposed by NGOs and local authorities in the Gagauz autonomy.

The funding agreement covers a period of 48 months.
