The European Union has never given up on the idea of democratization and modernization of Moldova. The visit of the three presidents to Chișinău is further proof of this. These opinions were expressed by government representatives and experts in international relations. According to the former permanent representative of Moldova to the UN, Vlad Lupan, the presence in Chișinău of the three heads of state on Independence Day is a strong message of support for the country's European path.

Vlad Lupan said that Poland's proposal for Moldova to become a member of the Three Seas Initiative is an unprecedented opening from the European Union in the field of economic cooperation and trade relations.

"The presence of the presidents of Romania and Ukraine is an important message of support for the new administration. Poland's involvement represents a message of continuity of the Eastern Partnership. Poland launched the Eastern Partnership together with Sweden. Additionally, Poland has always supported Ukraine, while President Duda talked about the Three Seas Initiative, in particular about economic relations", said Vlad Lupan on TVR Moldova's "Punctul pe Azi".

PAS representatives said that the Moldova has lost the trust of its European partners after former pro-European alliances took over the government. The current administration's task is to restore this trust and become a credible partner abroad.

"The European Union has never abandoned the idea that Moldova must be democratized and modernized. The problem has always been within Moldova, because of political actors who wanted to concentrate power and promote personal and group interests. In the early years of the European Integration Alliance we had an unprecedented openness from external partners. If it had not been for massive corruption, we would have had a chance to join the EU today", said PAS MP Lilian Carp.

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Polish President Andrzej Duda are taking part today, together with President Maia Sandu, in the festivities organized in the Great National Assembly Square, dedicated to the Independence Day of Moldova. Bilateral meetings and a multilateral meeting of the four heads of state will follow.
