The European Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Cretu encouraged Moldova to consistently continue on the European road. In a meeting with Prime Minister Pavel Filip in Brussels, Corina Cretu assured that the European Commission will offer political and practical support to the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press service, the interlocutors discussed the actions and opportunities for developing the regional policy of Moldova. Pavel Filip reiterated Moldova’s interest in taking part in the regional programs of the EU and in infrastructure projects that enable to directly learn from the European experience and good practices in implementing the regional policy.
In particular, the two officials conferred on Moldova’s participation in the implementation of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region and underlined the necessity of strengthening the cooperation with the participating counties so as to work out strategic projects of national and regional interest.
Pavel Filip and Corina Cretu also exchanged opinions on the reform agenda assumed by Moldova in the framework of the Association Agreement with the EU.
