EU approves of results achieved by Moldova during a year of Mobility Partnership

The results achieved during the first year of implementation of the Moldova-EU Mobility Partnership have been discussed in Brussels at the second high-level meeting of the Mobility Partnership. New objectives for the immediate period have been set at the meeting, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Foreign Ministry's press service.
According to the quoted source, the European Commission welcomed the Moldovan authorities' readiness to use the opportunities offered by the Mobility Partnership to support the Government's efforts to liberalize the visa regime.
Among the best results mentioned were the projects to strengthen the national authorities' capacities to implement the best European practices and standards on migration and asylum, the development of projects to reintegrate the migrant workers into the national labor market, the development of the labor market and strengthening of the relations with the Moldovan communities.
The European officials informed about new project initiatives under the Mobility Partnership like the alleviation of the consequences of migration in healthcare, creation of the migration profile and its use in the process of formulating national policies, the EU member states' new initiatives as part of the European Commission's Thematic Program on circular migration, combating of trafficking in human beings, strengthening of the Moldovan communities abroad and establishing of cooperation relations with the country of origin.
The steps taken by Moldova in justice and internal affairs in the dialogue with the EU were assessed at the ninth meeting of the Third Moldova-EU Cooperation Subcommittee on Customs, Crossborder Cooperation, Money Laundering, Drugs and Illegal Migration held in Brussels on November 24.
At both of the meetings in Brussels, the Government of Moldova was represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Natalia Gherman.
The Meeting of the Joint Committees for Assessing the Implementation of the Visa Facilitation Agreement and the Agreement on Readmission of Persons Saying Illegally will take place in Brussels on December 16.
