Estates next to „Eternitate” Memorial Complex to be renewed until May 1, 2007

An apartment block, 3 student hostels of the State University and the public bath located on Pan Halipa Street from Chisinau, all near the “Etrenitate” Memorial Complex, will be renewed until May 1, 2007. As well, the economic agents working on this street will be obliged to renew their buildings. According to the PM Vasile Tarlev who organized on September 12 a meeting on the spot, said that it is necessary in order “to keep a good image” for the Memorial Complex and Pan Halipa Street, which were recently reconstructed.
According to the PM, a work group will perform a technical expertise of the student hostels. In case the result of the expertise will show that the buildings can be used for several years more, the front sides will be reconstructed and if this works can not be done, another decision will be made, Tarlev said, without mentioning what could that be.
The head of the Cabinet Council accepted the proposal of the City Hall to administrate the Public bath on Pan Halipa Street. The City Hall could reconstruct it, and if the building can not be put into operation, it will be demolished, the PM decided.
At the order of Vasile Tarlev, the reconstruction of the balconies and front sides of the apartment block located near the Memorial will be include within the frameworks of the program “Model-district”. The reparation works will be sponsored by the City Hall of Chisinau.
As well, at the solicitation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the PM ordered to the municipal authorities and the Road Police to solve within one week the problem of parking on Pan Halipa Street, and until the end of the month to repair and illuminate the streets near the student hostels located in this zone.
Also, within the frameworks of the work meeting, it was decided that until October 1, 2006, the City Hall together will transmit the administration responsibilities of the “Etrenitate” Memorial Complex to the Ministry of Defense.
