A tripartite Moldovan delegation is participating in the International Labor Conference that started in the Swiss city of Geneva on May 30, Info-Prim Neo reports. The agenda of the forum includes the Global Report on Equality at Work by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Director General, the adoption of new work standards in the fish-breeding sector and discussion of problems related to the promotion of sustainable enterprises. According to the ILO National Correspondent in Moldova Ala Lipciu, the delegation is composed of the Government’s representative Sergiu Sainciuc, Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade, and Chairman of the National Confederation of Employers Leonid Cerescu, Chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions Petru Chiriac, and Moldova’s Permanent Representatives to the United Nations Office in Geneva Victor Moraru. The delegation is tripartite due to the structure of the ILO in which the government, employers and trade unions have equal statuses. The conference participants will discuss such subjects as the environment of decent work, children’s work in agriculture, the work relations in fish-breeding, the equality of chances and combating of discrimination when employing and doing the job, the adoption of new work standards in the fish-breeding sector and problems related to the promotion of sustainable enterprises. The International Labour Conference brings together representatives of the 178 ILO member states. Each delegate has equal rights and can vote at his discretion. International organisations attend the conference as observers.
