Alexandru Epureanu’s team Istanbul Basaksehir has qualified for the playoffs of the UEFA Champions League after the vice champion of Turkey defeated Brugge of Belgium 2-0 in the second leg played at the Fatih Terim arena, IPN reports.
The Moldovan footballer played throughout the game, as he did in the first leg that ended by 3-3. In Istanbul, goals for the winners were scored by Adebayor and Visca. The draw for the playoffs of the UEFA Champions League will take place on August 4.
Alexandru Epureanu could become the fourth Moldova who will play in the UEFA Champions League, after Sergiu Dadu, Sergey Covalciuc and Alexandru Gatcan.
