The hosting of the European Political Community (EPC) Summit by Moldova will contribute to developing the country’s economy in the long and short terms, says the official website of the EPC Summit, which presents the opinion of the director of the program “Business Environment and the SMEs” of Expert-Grup, Stas Madan, IPN reports.
According to the expert, even if the costs associated with the organization of the event, including for the improvement of infrastructure, security measures and logistical support, are significant, these costs could be recouped through the benefits for the business sector and the investment climate in general.
“When a company from our country wants to identify a new client or provider from abroad, the country from which this comes is usually the first filter and the company itself is only the second filter. The fact that Moldova will host an event with the presence of influential heads of state and government and will be in the focus of attention of the most reputable media outlets of the world, the country’s fame and prestige will increase and this will facilitate the opening of external doors to our businesses too,” said Stas Madan.
The EPC Summit will offer a number of high-quality instruments to our whole economic diplomacy system so as to take the opportunities to promote exports and attract investment.
“We cannot exclude the immediate economic benefits of this event. Given the number of foreign delegates and journalists expected to come to this event, approximately 1,500-2,000 persons, our firms, primarily those of the hospitality sector, will have additional sales of 6 to 10 million lei,” noted the expert.
