Fifteen reports as from next year will be struck off the list of 92 reports received by the National Bureau of Statistics and the State Tax Service from economic agents. Another nine reports will be digitized, while 14 will be significantly simplified and abridged, Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, announced at a press briefing, IPN reports.

“We will save 684,000 hours of work and 68 million lei every year. And there is still room for optimization. In 2024, we will continue this effort. In Estonia, a small entrepreneur in particular is required to submit only one annual report. It means that this is possible in our country as well. This way, we not only support entrepreneurs to grow their businesses, but also contribute to building a reliable, honest and sustainable economy,” said the official.

Referring to the results achieved by the Ministry, Dumitru Alaiba said that 2023 has been a year full of reforms. “At the end of this year, out of the 525 public services intended for entrepreneurs, almost 50% are digitized, which is quite a lot. In May, this figure stood at 38%. We made a quick jump,” stated the Deputy Premier. According to him, reforms to reduce bureaucracy help entrepreneurs to save almost one billion lei every year, which is equal to 0.5% of the GDP.

The minister noted that 260 million lei worth of grants was provided in the course of the year. Also, the Government Program 373 was launched and through this companies were helped to invest. Investments made through this program came to over 650 million lei and the figure in the near future is expected to exceed one billion lei. The beneficiaries of this program have increased the number of jobs by more than 20%.

“We brought a Roaming Agreement with the European Union to our people. We signed Moldova’s accession to the Single Market Program with the EU. We completed our country’s accession to the Digital Europe Program. We signed the Free Trade Agreement with EFTA countries, obtained the extension of liberalized trade with the EU, extended liberalized trade with the United Kingdom and are advancing in updating the Free Trade Agreement with Turkey,” Minister Alaiba pointed out.
