Voting in the presidential elections must be accessible either when one votes in the polling place or by the mobile ballot box. This was the message of the training seminar staged by the Center of Continuous Electoral Training working under the Central Election Commission, in partnership with the Center for Legal Assistance for Persons with Disabilities, IPN reports.
During two days, on October 7-8, 16 persons with disabilities from different regions of the country have been familiarized with the particularities of the presidential elections, their rights in these elections, the types of direct and indirect involvement in the election process and methods of mobilizing the persons with disabilities for these to take part in the elections.
The trained persons will take measures at the local level to mobilize the persons with special needs so that these cast their ballots.
The participants were also taught about the status of observer in the Republic of Moldova, their rights and obligations and are to be accredited as observers by the CEC.
