Enhanced security measures for Sunday march

The Ministry of the Interior has announced that enhanced security measures will be implemented in Chisinau on Sunday when a march is planned by supporters of unification with Romania, Info-Prim Neo reports. MoI Public Order Department head Marin Maxian said the number of officers involved will be sufficient to ensure safety at least for 20,000 people, twice the crowd expected by the march's organizers. “Practice has shown the need to ensure public order at such sort of events. If there are people who instigate the crowd to violence, the police will be there to respond in conformity with the law”, said Marin Maxian. The police are urging all participants to display civilized behaviors and refrain from calls to violence or inter-ethnic hatred, and the residents of the city are urged to avoid the areas where the events are planned.
