Engineer faces imprisonment for failing in his duties

An engineer working for a Chisinau company is liable to up to six years in jail for not fulfilling his duties responsibly. In a communiqué, the Prosecutor General’s Office says that the engineer did not adequately ensure the connection of a heating boiler to the natural gas pipe in a house in Sangera village of Chisinau municipality. As a result, the gas pipe leaked, causing an explosion. The explosion killed the female owner of the house aged 36, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Prosecutor’s Office of Botanica district sent the case to court. If found guilty, the man would be imprisoned and deprived of the right to carry out a certain activity for a period of up to five years.
